Be sure to put Calamity Janes, located in nostalgic Lake Mills, Wisconsin, on your must visit list. Mother and daughter duo, Lynne and Stefanie, hold occasional sales each month. You will find a wide selection of vintage goods from cottage to industrial, victorian to primitive. You can visit their website at: www.calamityjanes-antiquities.com.  Here is a peek at their shop and some of their offerings:

Finally Back

I am finally back after a crashed hard drive put me out of commission for over a week.

I traveled to Elkhorn for the last flea market of the year on Sunday. Unfortunately, it rained (and poured) on and off which meant that there were fewer dealers and some outside dealers who packed up early. I still managed to find a variety of fun treasures - mainly for our Etsy shop. I will be posting some of these items later in the week.

Junk Bonanza

I just returned home from Shakopee, MN and the Junk Bonanza. Unfortunately, I did not have a chance to take photos as I was too busy shopping all of the wonderful booths. (Also, it was requested that we ask each vendor if it was acceptable to take photos - and they were all so busy, I did not want to interrupt.)

The booths were just amazing - packed from top to bottom. There was such a variety of vintage, industrial, salvage and repurposed wares.  We bought early bird tickets - well worth the cost for first "picking".  The show was certainly inspiring.  It was great seeing Jan from Gracie's Cottage and Kathy from Lilac Lane Boutique and Taylor and Lisa from Sommers Breeze Antiques. Their booths were fantastic.

I found lots of fun items - some to sell plus some keepers.  Here is a peek at some of the treasures we will be listing in our Etsy shop in the coming weeks:

We also stopped to meet the team representatives from Etsy.  It was great visiting with them and talking "shop".

More Collecting - Kitchen Style

The heart of the home is the kitchen.  Whether you like contemporary, cottage or retro, vintage finds add character and charm.  Create interest and warmth with glasses, bowls, scales, utensils, baskets, signs, dishes, etc. displayed on countertops, shelves, open cupboards, hutches and more.  You can stick with a color theme - or go for a more ecletic look by mixing styles and colors.  I currently have my red and white collection displayed.

Flea Market Style Magazine

Check out the list of Readers' Favorite Antique Malls in the just released Flea Market Style Magazine.  Right on page 131, you will find Columbus Antique Mall in Columbus, Wisconsin.

This mall is just north of Madison, Wisconsin.  I had a booth there for a number of years, until I started selling on Etsy.  I thought I would share some pictures of just a few of the offerings available at the mall.  You can find a variety of treasures ranging from $1.00 on up to $1,000 plus.

Neutrals in Metal, Wood, Glass, etc.

Kitchen Collections and More...
Industrial to Shabby Chic

Nostalgic Toys

So if you are in the neighborhood, be sure to check out the mall.  You might want to plan on spending as much time as possible since there are three floors. I can guarantee that you will not leave empty handed.

Collecting

I love to collect colorful books and little bits and pieces of this and that. These collections are so much fun that I like to display them in my home for inspiration.  Collections are a wonderful way to decorate your home and surround yourself with the things you love.
